Legislative Priorities

The greatest challenge facing Pennsylvania today is the lack of economic growth due to high taxes especially high business taxes. As your state representative I will work to make Pennsylvania one of the 5 lowest tax states in the nation and I will work to align state govenrment spending with the (initially) reduced tax revenue. My top 3 legislative priorities are:

  1. Reduce Pennsylvania state taxes in order to be competitive with other states
  2. Reduce government spending to balance the state budget without borrowing against our children's future
  3. Increase the transparency of state government because transparency acts as a disinfectant for Bonusgate type scandals and as an antiseptic to prevent future illegal activity

It may surprise some people that reducing taxes to promote increased economic growth is the moral tax policy. This is due to the fact that even though you are allocating a smaller slice of the overall economic pie to government spending increased economic growth will relatively quickly lead to increased funds available for government programs i.e. the pie gets bigger faster when taxes are lower. Reducing taxes helps everyone, even the poor, due to the increased revenue over time from accelerated economic growth. This is coupled with the additional benefit of significantly increased work opportunities enabling more people to get a job or to get a better paying job.
